Flex/HSA Accounts

All Flex and Health Savings Accounts will reimburse you for acupuncture services.  This pre-tax deduction will save you a lot of income over time.  Most Flex/HSA debit cards can be used at our clinic.  For those that don’t, we can usually add them to our credit card service.  Many plans will also reimburse for herbal medicine as long as they are medically necessary.  Ask our staff for herbal prescription forms to turn in to your plan.

Many insurance agencies still do NOT cover acupuncture treatments. Because of this, we try to keep our prices as reasonable as possible. Exceptions we have occasionally seen (but cannot promise will be in each individual's plan) are acupuncture treatment reimbursement for pregnant women, Worker's Compensation plans, and sometimes in cases where a DO or MD has referred a patient to our clinic. For definitive answers on if your insurance will cover any acupuncture, call your company.  According to the Affordable Care Act, if an insurance plan reimburses for acupuncture performed by an MD/DO, it must also reimburse you for treatment by a Licensed Acupuncturist.  This is in the Patient Bill of Rights, section 2706.
